WALLACE BACK TO PITTSBURGH; CASHMAN RECALLED

groupWILKES-BARRE, PA – The Pittsburgh Penguins have recalled forward Tim Wallace from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, it was announced on Saturday by Executive Vice President and General Manager, Ray Shero.  Additionally, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton has recalled defenseman Reid Cashman from the Wheeling Nailers.

Wallace, 24, has appeared in 22 games with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton this season, recording seven points (4+3) and 33 penalty minutes.  He made his NHL debut with Pittsburgh on December 10 at New Jersey, and recorded his first NHL point with an assist on December 18 at Atlanta.

The native of Anchorage, Alaska has played 127 games in the AHL for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, recording 47 points (21 goals, 26 assists) and 152 penalty minutes.  He has registered 10 points (three goals, seven assists) and 23 penalty minutes in 33 post-season appearances with the Penguins. 

Wallace signed with Pittsburgh as a free agent on October 4, 2006.

Cashman, 25, began the season with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, recording two assists in four games with the Penguins.  He was reassigned to Wheeling on November 20, and has recorded 13 points (3+10) in 14 games with the Nailers.

The 6-2, 205 native of Red Wing, Minnesota was signed by Wilkes-Barre/Scranton as a free agent on  July 24, 2008.
