PENGUINS SIGN GOALIE KARL GOEHRING TO PTO
The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins have signed goaltender Karl Goehring to a professional tryout contract, it was announced on Tuesday.
Goehring, 29, posted a 22-15-4 record with the Milwaukee Admirals last season, tying for 14th in the league in wins.
In 218 American Hockey League games with the Admirals and Syracuse Crunch, Goehring has posted an 89-94-18 record with 11 shutouts.
The native of Apple Valley, MN, spent four years at the University of North Dakota, recording an 80-20-13 record with a 2.23 goals against average and a .918 save percentage between 1997-2001. He set Fighting Sioux records for shutouts in a season (8 in 1999-00), career shutouts (15) and career wins (80), while placing second in career games played (118), career goals against average (2.23), career save percentage (.918).
