PARENT PENGUINS SEND NINE MORE TO WILKES-BARRE

The Pittsburgh Penguins have cut their training camp roster to 30 players, it was announced today by Executive Vice President/General Manager Ray Shero.

Nine players have been assigned to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, the American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate of the Pittsburgh Penguins. 

The nine players assigned to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton include; forwards Connor James, Tyler Kennedy, Chris Minard, Jeff Taffe, & Tim Wallace; defensemen Alex Goligoski, Ryan Lannon, and Ben Lovejoy; goaltender Ty Conklin.

The Penguins re-assigned center Dustin Jeffrey to his junior club, Sault Ste. Marie of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL).  Jeffrey was the sixth-round selection (171st overall) of the Penguins in the 2007 Entry Draft.

The AHL Penguins will open their four-game pre-season schedule tonight versus the Hershey Bears. Great seats are still available and can purchased at the Wachovia Arena Box Office or any Ticketmaster outlet.
