PARENT PENGUINS SEND TWO MORE TO WILKES-BARRE

The Pittsburgh Penguins have cut their training camp roster to 27 players, it was announced Saturday by Executive Vice President/General Manager Ray Shero.

Center Nathan Smith and defenseman Joe Rullier have been assigned to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, the AHL affiliate of the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Forward Angelo Esposito has been assigned to the Quebec Remparts of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL).  Esposito was the first-round selection (20th overall) of the Penguins in the 2007 Entry Draft.

The Penguins now have 16 forwards, nine defensemen, and two goaltenders for a total of 27 players remaining in training camp.

The AHL Penguins will opened their four-game pre-season schedule with a 4-1 loss to the Hershey Bears last night. They will resume their pre-season schedule this Friday night at home against the Binghamton Senators.

Great seats are still available for that, and every Penguins home game, and can be purchased at the Wachovia Arena Box Office or any Ticketmaster Outlet.
