PARENT PENS SEND CURRY TO WILKES-BARRE CAMP
The Pittsburgh Penguins have assigned goaltender John Curry to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, it was announced today by Executive Vice President/General Manager Ray Shero.
Curry, 23, was signed by the Penguins as a free agent on July 13th, 2007 after completing his collegiate career at Boston University. He led the nation with seven shutouts during the 2006-07 season while also posting a 2.01 goals-against-average and a .928 save percentage.
The NHL Pens have 13 defensemen, 24 forwards, and three goaltenders for a total of 40 players remaining in training camp.
The AHL Penguins will open training camp on Thursday, September 20th at the Wachovia Arena at Casey Plaza. Their first pre-season game is slated for this Saturday (7:05 PM) at Wachovia Arena vs. the Hershey Bears.
