PENGUINS RE-SIGN THIRD-YEAR DEFENSEMAN RYAN LANNON
The Pittsburgh Penguins have re-signed defenseman Ryan Lannon, it was announced today by Assistant General Manager Chuck Fletcher.
Lannon, 24, has appeared in 142 games with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton during the past two seasons, recording 29 points (2+27) and 136 penalty minutes to go along with a plus-18 rating.
The 6-2, 200 pound native of Grafton, MA, played four seasons at Harvard, recording 38 points (4+34) and 147 penalty minutes in 136 games. He also finished his collegiate career with a plus-66 rating, and was named the US College Hockey Online ‘Unsung Hero’ in his senior season, during which he also earned a Second Team All Ivy League selection.
Lannon was selected by Pittsburgh in the eighth round (239th overall) of the 2002 Entry Draft.
