PENGUINS RE-SIGN FORWARD CONNOR JAMES

The Pittsburgh Penguins have re-signed right wing Connor James, it was announced Tuesday by general manager Ray Shero.

Originally signed by the Penguins on August 9, 2006, James appeared in 70 games with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton last season, recording 32 points (12+20) and 29 penalty minutes.  The 5-10, 170 pound forward tied for ninth on the team in points and tied for 10th in goals.

Drafted by the Los Angeles Kings in the ninth round (279th overall) of the 2002 Entry Draft, James appeared in 77 games with the Manchester Monarchs of the American Hockey League during the 2005-06 season, recording 42 points (17+25) to place fourth on the team in scoring and fifth in goals.  His two short-handed goals tied for second on the team.

James also made his NHL debut in 2005-06 with the Los Angeles Kings, appearing in two games and going scoreless.
