SERIES NOTES
The Penguins upped their all-time record in Game Ones to 9-12 overall and 4-7 on the road with their victory Friday night.

  • Three Penguins - Jon D’Aversa, Joe Vitale and Janne Pesonen - made their Calder Cup Playoff debuts on Friday night.
  • John Curry set a new team record by picking up his 15th career postseason victory in Game One vs. Bridgeport.  He had been tied at 14 with Andy Chiodo.
  • Chris Minard moved into a tie for fourth place on the team’s all-time playoff goals list with his 12th in Game One.  He shares fourth place with Tim Brent and Connor James.

IN GAME TWO

  • The Penguins have an all-time record of 7-13 in Game Twos.
  • The Penguins have an all-time record of 0-9 in Road Game Twos.
  • The Penguins are 4-4 in Game Twos after a Game One win.

MISC

  • The Penguins have won seven of the eight series prior to this season when they have captured Game One.  The only time the team failed to take a series after winning the first game was the 2001 Calder Cup Finals vs. Saint John.

Penguins vs. Sound Tigers Playoff Facts

  • The Penguins have a 3-4 record on home ice against the Sound Tigers in the playoffs.
  • Eight of the 15 games between the Penguins and Sound Tigers have gone to overtime, with the Penguins winning five of those games.
  • The Penguins have outscored the Sound Tigers 43-37 in the postseason.
