PITTSBURGH RECALLS TYLER KENNEDY
WILKES-BARRE, PA –The Pittsburgh Penguins have recalled forward Tyler Kennedy from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (AHL), it was announced today by Executive Vice President/General Manager Ray Shero.
It is the third recall this season for Kennedy, who was re-assigned to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on February 8th. He missed eight games with Pittsburgh from January 19th to February 7th due to mononucleosis. He was first called-up to the Penguins on October 27th making his NHL debut that night vs. the Montreal Canadiens. Kennedy scored his first NHL goal on November 3rd in a game vs. the New York Islanders.
Kennedy recorded two goals in three games after being re-assigned to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on February 8th. He has recorded nine points (5+4) in 10 AHL games this season.
Kennedy currently is tied for the lead among NHL rookies with four game-winning goals, and was originally selected by the Penguins in the fourth round (99th overall) in the 2004 Entry Draft.
The Penguins return home to face the Philadelphia Phantoms this Friday nigh, February 15, at 7:05pm.
